The Playwright Lab
Our Emerging Playwrights Lab is an exciting opportunity to bring new, original works to life. This lab is dedicated to the development of plays by up-and-coming playwrights, featuring multiple cold readings throughout the process to explore and shape the scripts. The lab will culminate in April 2025 with an industry presentation featuring short readings from all 4 plays and a structured feedback system for each writer to receive unique takeaways and support.

Mainstage Productions
Our most recent production was As You Like It by Shakespeare. We presented a full weekend of shows partnering with Riverbank State Park on 145th Street in Manhattan. Our Programming Director, Morgan Haney directed with Matthew Wechsler, our Director of Artistic Development as the Assistant Director. We had an incredible cast of actors, and such a great time getting to engage the local community.

Public Art Exhibitions
Most recently, with the Pigeons’ Potluck, we celebrated 3 experimental exhibitions of dance, words, painting, and more in Tompkins Square Park! Two sets of emerging writers, composers, choreographers, visual artists, and costume designers received the same video prompt of pigeons fighting. Using their individual interpretation as inspiration, they had 90 days to create a 5 minute piece of their own. It culminated in a public presentation of their work at the park on August 16th, 2024.
