by Nina Slowinski

Confession time! You’re going to love this brand-new play about friendship, faith… and frozen yogurt. Catholic guilt’s never looked so good. Skirts Off opens November 15th, get your tickets now before the nuns find out!

About The Play:
Despite the odds and the nuns, an eclectic group of Catholic high school girls come to support each other just in time for their impending graduation when they unexpectedly discover larger meaning in a frozen yogurt coupon.

About The Playwright:
Selected as one of our four playwrights in our Spring 2025 Emerging Playwrights Lab, Nina workshopped this script over four months of readings with different casts and collaborators. She received her Bachelors of Science in Theater from Skidmore College with concentrations in directing and playwriting. Frequently pulling on influences from the realms of femininity and mysticism, their work primarily centers around transformative, queer stories that question antiquated ways of thinking and encourage the, not always easy, self acceptance that comes with authentic living. She also calls herself an alphabet soup playwright/writer. Whether writing stage directions, dialogue, journaling, or even annotating, they consistently explore typography, aesthetics and composition in relation to narrative, plot and the page.
